If Ever We Meet Again

If ever I meet you again,

I hope I already lost the pain,

I hope I can face you directly,

As if my heart is healed already.

If ever I see you unexpectedly,

I hope I already lost the memory,

And pretend I don’t know you,

That I may not put too much value.

If ever we cross our path again,

I hope I can easily pretend,

And to think as if nothing happened,

As if I’m still whole and not broken.

If ever you call me and say “hello.”

I hope I can reply nicely and not snub you,

I think it will be the most awkward moment,

I wish I will not be so indifferent.

If ever you ask me how I am,

Maybe I will ask you in return, “why?”

“After hurting me and leaving me behind,

I never realized after all you’re still blind.”

It will take few months to love again,

But a lifetime to trust again,

It just takes a minute to break a heart,

Pain and memory will never part.
