In My Death Bed

What do you like to happen when you know that your last hour is coming? For me, I just wanted to see you in front of me, hold my hand, and say the magic word before I die.

There’s a feeling of excitement every time I sleep,

The desire of dreaming of you, I just can’t wait,

I would instead choose to die in my bed,

If only in my sleep, you’re in my head.

In my death bed, I wished you were there,

Wishing your voice to be the last sound I would hear,

Hoping your hands to be the last thing I could touch,

To remind me I am not alone before I depart.

Wishing your face to be the last image I will see,

That in the end, I would feel that I am free,

Free from sorrow, pain, and loneliness,

With you beside me, I would feel that I am blessed.

In my death bed, I wished I can still feel,

The broken heart I ever longed to heal,

My soul that was already numb,

I hope in the end, I will be found.

Will I be happy if I will not see you?

In the end, I hope my smile would still reach you.

That you may know I have let you go,

And I hope I did not cause you sorrow.

In my death, it might just be a minute,

Even just for a second, I will still wait,

At least even, in the end, I gave the effort,

That you may know, I did not lose hope.

I want you to know how I trusted you,

That I may realize you’d trusted me too,

Forgetting all the bad thoughts and memories,

That I may die in the end in peace.

One thing I wish you can do for me,

That is to forget and forgive me.

Thinking that I was just like a dream,

After waking up, you forget everything.

It’s easy to say, yet it’s so difficult,

Just like my feeling I ever hold,

Even in the end, I failed to let go,

Before I close my eyes, I’ll just want to say I love you.
